A EVENING with opera in September stands out like a shining light on an events calendar at Falls Creek which has been ravaged by COVID restrictions this season.

Astra Falls Creek will host 'An Evening with Opera Scholars Australia' on Saturday, September 11 from 6.30pm to 11pm

The event is an opportunity to enjoy world class music from talented scholars, set amid the grandeur and ambience of one the Falls Creek's most prized boutique residences.

The featured artists are predominantly drawn from the Opera Scholars Australia Alumni – baritone Stephen Marsh fresh from the 2021 Verbier Festival in Switzerland, soprano Shakira Dugan, tenor Cameron Sibly, and current scholar, soprano Jasmine Zuyderwyk.

They will be joined by the highly esteemed accompanist Adam Przewlocki and will perform operas such as La Traviata, Carmen, The Pearl Fishes, Don Giovani and Falstaff, a best loved number from West Side Story and an evening full of surprise and delight.

Accompanying the evenings performance will be a stunning four course meal created by Astra head chef Kauri Watkin and his team.

Astra's sommelier, Matt Cridge, has selected matched wines to pair with each course and guests will be treated to a complimentary welcome drink upon arrival.
