HAVING completed yet another successful autumn Art Exhibition, the team at bright Art Gallery are preparing for the winter months.
This year's Winter Art Exhibition will feature a collection of carefully chosen works from its sizeable permanent collection, along with the always popular Buckland Screens.
The Buckland Screens are a large mural by Freeburgh artist Tom Lawler which depicts the sad story of the riots on the Buckland Gold Fields in 1857, when a band of Europeans attacked the Chinese miners.
A full explanation sheet helps viewers understand a complex and important piece of art.
There will also be paintings and photographs – on a winter theme – by artist members of Bright Art Gallery, plus a range of cards, jewellery, and other artefacts.
Why not call in and visit during the June–July school holidays, when the gallery is open 10am until 2pm each day?
It is a well heated and comfortable place to spend an hour or more.
